Divine Love

Jesus Christ loves us infinitely and perfectly even though we are imperfect beings. There is nothing we can do that will cause him to stop loving us. His love is unconditional and is freely given, a fountain everflowing, you might say.

"Oh love that will not let me go.

I rest my weary soul in thee.

I give thee back the life I owe

That in thine ocean depths

its flow my richer, fuller be."

Alma the younger, a prophet in the Book of Mormon, was probably grateful for the reality of the Savior's love for him. Alma was evil and sought to destroy the church, but even in all of his sin, the Savior's hand was always extended, waiting for him return to him. Despite all of his mistakes, the Savior accepted his repentant heart and welcomed back to the fold with a warm embrace.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son."

"Jesus lover of my soul

let me to thy bosom fly.

While the nearer waters roll

while the tempest still is high"
