9-Y si quieren saber más acerca de la vida después de la muerte, acerca de los cielos o del plan de Dios para ustedes;

How in the world can I know what you know?
Have you ever heard someone's testimony and wished that you could say the same things with such conviction?
Well, I will be the first to admit that I've wished that. I've asked myself, "How do they know that with such conviction? I want to have an experience that will give me a strong experience that brings about a testimony like that." All the while that I was wishing for a strong conviction like my neighbor's testimony, I didn't realize that I already had one.
In the Book of Mormon, Alma the younger has an amazing experience where he is visited by an angel. He is struck dumb, and can't speak for days. During these few days, he experiences the pain and suffering of all his sins and the glory and relief of the atonement of Jesus Christ. In Alma 5:44-47 he says:

During these few days, he experiences the pain and suffering of all his sins and the glory and relief of the atonement of Jesus Christ. In Alma 5:44-47 he says:
45 And this is not all. Do ye not suppose that I know of these things myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety?
46 Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me.
47 And moreover, I say unto you that it has thus been revealed unto me, that the words which have been spoken by our fathers are true, even so according to the spirit of prophecy which is in me, which is also by the manifestation of the Spirit of God.
So after all these magnificient experiences that Alma had, the one that made the difference, that truly made his testimony was the manifestation of the Holy Ghost. As small as the feelings of the spirit may seem, I know that those feelings make all the difference in the world to me. That is how I know what I know. I haven't seen a vision. I haven't spoken with angels. But I have felt the presence of a member of the Godhead - the Holy Ghost. And I believe that is the greatest miracle of all.

The race Christ ran.
Today, we ran a race dedicated to our Mission Mom, Sister Bunker. Our zone headed to the hills of San Rafael for a 5k hike/walk/run. We started out at an enthusiastic walking pace, and then all of a sudden the group decided to start jogging. We ran for a while, but it wasn't long before I was exhausted and gave up the whole running thing. You see, I don't really like running or hiking for that matter. So I was content to hang out in the back of the group with my companion, walking at a comfortable pace.
Further on in our "race" for Sister Bunker, they started doing an "Indian run." An indian run is when the whole group walks/jogs in a single file line. The last person then runs or sprints up to the front of the line, and then the new last person runs and this keeps going as long as you would like. We had done it twice, and I had given up. I was the last one, and there was no way I was going to run to the front of the line. I was done and content where I was. The Elders at the end of the line continued to nag me about running. They tried many different ways to persuade me to get going. Nothing seemed to work. And then, Elder Noris said,

"Do it for Sister Bunker."
I looked at him, and said, "Okay. Here I go." And started running. As I ran, I yelled,
"THIS IS FOR SISTER BUNKER!!!!"
Jesus Christ passed through the most difficult trial that ever existed. He didn't want to drink of the bittercup. He didn't want to run the race - it was hard, painful and agonizing. In that same verse, he says:
"Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
He ran the race anyways. He ran it for us. I am sure as he was suffering he was thinking of all of us individually, "Do it for Hermana McKay. Do it for Sarah. Do it for David." He dedicated the longest, hardest race ever ran to us. He loves us. He ran for us.

Divine Love
Jesus Christ loves us infinitely and perfectly even though we are imperfect beings. There is nothing we can do that will cause him to stop loving us. His love is unconditional and is freely given, a fountain everflowing, you might say.
I rest my weary soul in thee.
I give thee back the life I owe
That in thine ocean depths
its flow my richer, fuller be."
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son."
"Jesus lover of my soul
let me to thy bosom fly.
While the nearer waters roll
while the tempest still is high"

the miracle of coming to church
Every day, I invite people to come to church. It may seem like a repetive, mindless habit. But in reality, church is an enriching, miraculous experience every week. It truly is a MIRACLE that we have the opportunity to go to church every week.
In Moroni 6, we are taught that we should go to church to be "nurtured by the good word of God." Which may sound boring, but it's not. Going to church is like free food for the soul - a limitless buffet of knowledge and enlightenment. Meetings are not meant to put us to sleep. Meetings are opportunities to be personally instructed and guided by the spirit. If we come to church prepared, God will give us guidance, knowledge, and answers to all of our questions. We can find answers to our deepest questions, worries, and fears by simply attending a meeting.
We also have the opportunity to renew our baptismal covenants that we made with our Heavenly Father. Every week we make mistakes. But no matter how big or small the mistake, we can become clean again by partaking of the sacrament. We can start each week with a perfectly clean slate. If that's not a miracle, I don't know what is.
So I, once again, invite one and all, to come partake of the spiritual buffet, come find answers to your questions, come start the week with a clean slate. come and experience a miracle.

the choice is yours
This world is overwhelmed with choices. Recycle or trash? Text or phone call? Books or movies? Work or school? The list goes on. God has also given us agency to choose our reactions to our every day lives. We have the freedom to choose courage or fear, pride or humility, optimism or pessimism, and greed or gratitude. But my companion, Hermana Anderson, has taught me the most important decision that we must make every day - choose faith. Sometimes we just have to choose once, in the morning. But sometimes, faith is a choice we have to make every hour or even every minute.
Elder Edgley said this:
" Because of the conflicts and challenges we face in today's world, I wish to suggest a single choice - a choice of peace and protection and a choice that is appropriate for all. That choice is faith. Be aware that faith is not a free gift given without thought, desire, or effort. It does not come as the dew falls from heaven.... So I say, choose faith. Choose faith over doubt, choose faith over fear, choose faith over the unknown and the unseen, and choose faith over pessimism."
Choose not only to believe that Christ lives, but that his atonement is real. Choose to believe that through Him we can truly overcome fear, pride, pessimisim, greed or whatever hardship may befall us. Choose to believe that you can find solace in the merciful arms of the Savior. I promise as you choose faith in Jesus Christ, you will be filled with power to overcome weakness, illness, temptation, and "you shall overcome the world." (D&C 63:47) and find everlasting happiness.

i love to laugh
"And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh so that all that hear will laugh with me." - Genesis 21:6
(The footnote fo this scripture replaces the word "laugh" with the word "rejoice.")
Laughter is evidence that your body doesn't have room enough to hold the joy and happiness inside you. The happiness simply has no where to go, but out. It bursts forth in whatever form (see the lyrics to Mary Poppins' I love to laugh) and is generally a true, uninhibited expression of feeling.
My loving Heavenly Father has overwhelmed me with blessings - my family, friends, the Book of Mormon, and most importantly a way to live with Him again. The truth and light of this world is our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the way, the only way. It is through Him that we can live with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our families forever. The only way. And God has blessed me with this knowledge and a testimony that this is true. This knowledge, fills me with an inexplicable joy that simply has no where to go, but out. That is why I'm a missionary. As a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have the opportunity to laugh (rejoice) every day so that all who hear will laugh (rejoice) with me. The purpose of this blog is to share the joy that is found through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
"Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will priase our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much fo his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel." - Alma 26:16
